About Rik

Me, I’m a retired educator / IT type person who has formatted more than one thousand books.

I retired from full time work at the University of New Brunswick in 2005. I now divide my time between our grandchildren, kayaking, my ongoing work with eBook development, building custom fishing rods and my pursuit of Magic.

I was the Manager of the Instructional Technology within the Integrated Technology Services at the University of New Brunswick for seven years. My background includes 18 years as a classroom teacher and 19 years in educational technology and I have been actively involved in eLearning as a designer, trainer and instructor since 1995.

I was honoured by the Instructional Telecommunications Council in Austin Texas as the Outstanding Canadian Distance Educator for 1999.

I chaired and ran the first conference in the world dedicated to Teaching and Learning on the Web. The NAWeb Conference series ran for ten years.

I have a Master of Arts in Administration and Curriculum Design from Gonzaga University.

When I am not formatting books for authors, I like to spend time with my best friend of 51 years, Linda. Together we have two children, seven grandchildren, a cat and four kayaks.
